Destiny 2: Bastion Exotic Fusion Rifle quest guide - Memento and Spoken Word

Destiny 2’s latest Exotic quest has arrived and this time around the prize is Bastion, a new Fusion Rifle.

Bastion is a Kinetic Fusion Rifle that includes the Breakthrough perk, which lets the weapon’s damage bypass elemental shields, and the Saint’s Fist perk which lets players charge the weapon to fire three spreads of Kinetic slugs.

Some players have already unlocked the weapon thanks to a long and convoluted puzzle that granted them early access. For everyone else, the weapon will be available after Tuesday’s reset, when the new Exotic quest will open up via a quest.

Here’s our guide to how to complete the quest and unlock the Bastion Exotic Fusion Rifle in Destiny 2.

Step 1: The Memento Quest from Saint-14

First, you’ll need to visit Saint-14 to get the Memento quest. The first step of the quest is called Spoken Word. This step sends you to the Tangled Shore to collect Fallen Intel. To get the intel you’ll need to kill Fallen Captains and Servitors anywhere in the Tangled Shore.

Step 2: Talk to Spider and complete the Backroom Brawl and Strong Arm quests

For this section of the quest you’ll need to visit Spider on the Tangled Shore. He’ll give you the next quest step, but you should pick up a few of his bounties while you’re there. Complete them but don’t turn them in, because you’ll need them for a later step.

To complete Spider’s Backroom Brawl section of Memento you’ll need to kill Aksiniks, Bound by Honor within the Empty Tank Lost Sector. Head to the Thieves’ Landing Lost Sector where you’ll find Aksiniks in the final room of the area. Take him out then return to the Spider for the next quest.

The next step in the quest is called A Strong Arm, and has three steps:

• Complete 10 Spider bounties
• Kill 30 challenging enemies
• Complete eight Public Events

Heroic Public Events will complete that section twice as fast, but the rest of these are exactly what they say on the tin. Once you’ve killed the orange health-bar enemies and completed the bounties you can turn this in to the Spider and move on.

Step 3: Visit the grave site in Trapper’s Cave

Spider now wants you to visit the a grave site within Trapper’s Cave, the Lost Sector in the Four-Horn Gulch. The grave is hidden under the waterfall once you enter the Lost Sector. Once you jump down the waterfall, turn around and you should be able to find the grave. Once you’ve visited the grave, head back to the Spider to turn the quest in.

Step 4: Defeat Defiled Reysk, the Waning Light in The Hallowed Lair, Memento Strike

From the Tangled Shore director screen you should now have the option to start the “The Hallowed Lair, Memento” Strike. This is an altered version of the regular The Hallowed Lair Strike. In this version a new boss called Defiled Reysk, the Waning Light, will spawn during the final fight with The Fanatic. This should be a pretty easy fight, and it will automatically matchmake you with allies.

Once you’ve defeated Reysk you can head back to the tower to talk to Saint-14 who will give you the Bastion Exotic Fusion Rifle.
